PGL is the UK’s leading outdoor education provider, delivering inspirational learning at residential activity centres in the UK, France and Australia.

We are currently looking to appoint a Night Support Team Leader at Little Canada our Activity Centre based on the Isle of Wight.

Little Canada can accommodate 850 guests and over 200 staff during peak season.

Reporting to the Guest Care Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the centre is safe and secure at all times whilst on duty, delivering excellent customer service. You will also play a vital part in assisting the maintenance and centre presentation teams by supporting the upkeep of the centre. You will be in a role that requires you to respond to emergency situations, including responsibilities for first aid.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the centre is safe and secure by carrying out regular patrols of the buildings and grounds;
  • Being the first point of contact for guests and staff between the hours of 19:30pm and 7.30am, ensuring excellent customer service is delivered at all times;
  • Responding to any emergency situations and play an active role in their management;
  • Ensuring tasks relating to compliance are completed and records kept accordingly;
  • Ensuring that all guests have a positive and professional experience when contacting Night Support;
  • Responding to any guests’ problems/queries quickly and efficiently;
  • Supporting and enforcing noise curfews to limit impact on guest accommodation areas;
  • Taking on simple maintenance tasks as requested by your line manager and the Maintenance Manager;
  • Carrying out any Health and Safety checks as requested by your line manager;
  • Effectively communicating with other departments, ensuring issues are handed over effectively
  • Take responsibility of Night Support Assistants or other staff tasked with working overnight.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

  • Basic maintenance knowledge;
  • IT literacy
  • A proactive approach to team work
  • The ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
  • The ability to work individually, managing and prioritising your own tasks.

Full training will be given as well as opportunities to gain relevant qualifications
